Trying on for last adjustment our new orange tree on stilts costume.
The orange tree is going to tour in 4 countries representing Israel in tourist fairs.
we do this tour every year and there is always some interesting sewing project involved, this time the construction of the tree was the main challenge as the work day is of 8 hours and if the stilt costume is not light and comfortable it can be a real nightmare. it seems as if we made it, but only experience will tell.
the tree is made from a light aluminum construction, the weight is on the shoulder, it is then covered with foam to give shape and volume and than wrapped in suede like fabric entwined with the silk leaves and fake oranges.
we are celebrating this week birthday to the trees(one of our nicest holidays for sure)so its appropriate and i am working around the clock on three new costumes for a big fest in Jerusalem this Friday, sometimes i just don't understand how can i do all these things at the same time ,seems so crazy.
